Alive

As a child I was told that Jesus 

"was not resurrected with a human body."

Told that 

"Jesus was brought back to life as a powerful spirit person." 

That is not true!

As a child I was told that 

"we have the hope of the resurrection because of Lazarus."

Told that 

"Jehovah has the power to remove death forever, and that is what he will do very soon."

That is not true!

When I chose to denounce my faith in the Jehovah's Witness Organization and choose to be 

Born Again in Christ Jesus, a foundational truth I chose to put my faith in is that Jesus resurrected from the dead in bodily form.  

I believed in the resurrection not because of Lazarus but because of Jesus and His resurrection.  

I believed that Christ resurrection and the power over death wasn't something that would happen "very soon."  It was finished! 

Death was defeated and concurred when He rose from the dead thousands of years ago!

Passover Sunday.

Easter Sunday.

He Is Risen!

He Is Alive!

I believe Jesus is alive today!

I believe the Word of God is alive and active today!

How?

Because when I read the Word of God today this is how He speaks to me...

I will free you from your oppression and will rescue you from your slavery in Egypt.

I took you out and rescued you from the Organization. Freeing you from the oppression of works and the wonderment of can I really be saved.

I will redeem you with a powerful arm and great acts of judgment.

I will take what the enemy meant for evil and make it for good, all for the saving of many lives.

I will claim you as my own people, and I will be your God. 

You are mine Melissa and I will take you as my own.

He is not here; he has risen, just as he said!

Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”

Jesus resurrection is not the end!

Oh no dear friend it is just the beginning!

John 19:30, 1 Corinthians 15:5, Hebrews 4:12, Exodus 6:6,7, Genesis 50:20, Matthew 28:6,7

Good Friday

"Your sins are forgiven!"

"Why does this man talk like that? He's blaspheming!"

"Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

Forgiven and Healed!

Who is able to forgive?

Who is able to heal?

God and God alone.

"The whole Sanhedrin were looking for false evidence 

against Jesus so that they could put him to death." 

Today a man, the Son of God, the Messiah was accused, tortured and killed for blasphemy.

What if the law and punishment for blasphemy today was death?

I know I would not be here.

Just tell us already! 

"How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly."

Just tell us the truth already!

Jesus answered, 

"I did tell you, but you do not believe...

I give them eternal life...

I and the Father are one."

Let it be known!

"We are not stoning you for any good work, 

but for blasphemy, because you a mere man, 

claim to be God."

They tried to kill Jesus because he claimed to be the Son of God.  

There is not a misunderstanding here.

Jesus' sonship is no ordinary one. 

There is ONE son.

Not many sons.

Not many created sons.

Not legions of created angel sons.

There is ONE son and with that carries and beholds the trademarks of deity.

The Jews understood this and Jesus did tell his words plainly just as they had asked.

They tried to kill Jesus because they understood his claim 

to be able to forgive sins 

to be a claim of equality with God.  

Jesus said he possess the authority to forgive a person's sins.

He was and is telling the truth.

Do you believe Him?

Jesus spoke truth.

Jesus is truth.

Jesus is life.

Jesus is the way.

Jesus is the way to eternal life.

Some didn't believe Him and they shouted, 

"He is worthy of death!"

He was spit in the face.

He was struck with fists.

He was slapped.

Many were horrified at what happened to him.  

His appearance was so disfigured that he did not look like a man, 

and his form did not resemble a human being.

He went through all of that for me.

He went through all of that for you.

When I came to realize and believe what today really means...

I realized and believed that God left heaven and came to earth to die for me and my sins.

He loves me and wants to be with me for all eternity 

and I want to be with Him for all eternity. 

And that is what makes this a Good Friday for me.

Riverview Drive & Creek Crest Lane

I was created in God’s image.  You were created in God’s image. 

We were created in God’s image!  I have life.  I have breath. 

I have all things because He Himself gave it to me! 

He gave you life and breath. 

Are you living life? Breathing and taking it all in? 

(Genesis 1:26-27)

Before time began before the foundations were laid God determined the appointed time. 

The year 2000. Riverview Drive would be my home for 16 years. 

He set the boundary of where I would live and breathe and do life. 

It would be in the boundaries of Riverview Drive and Creek Crest Lane.  

(Acts 17:25-28)

Why? Why God did you place me there? 

Way out there in the country! 

Over the river and through the woods!

I placed a light on Creek Crest Lane, so that they (you Melissa) might seek (Me) God, 

and perhaps they (you, Melissa) might reach out and find Him (Me).   

(Matthew 5:14-16, Acts 17:25-28)

Oh boy did I seek! I reached out! 

I found the way, the truth, and the life 

in the boundaries of Riverview Drive and Creek Crest Lane! 

(John 14:6)

It is because of Him that I live and move and exist! 

(Acts 17:28)

Might. Perhaps. Reach.

I pray today might be the day you seek.  

I pray today perhaps you reach out. 

For when you do, you will know the Way.  

You will finally find Truth! 

You will live life taking it all in for all that it is and all that He has for you!

He is not far from each one of us.
